Access Midwives: Your Care
Our midwives maintain regular office hours Monday through Thursday. Phones are answered from 9:30am to 4:30pm and appointments are scheduled between 9:30am and 5:00pm. First of the morning and end of the day appointments are the most popular. Please be aware that we can not guarantee these spots will be available for you. We can say that it will sometimes be necessary for you to attend appointments at inconvenient times for you. Thanks in advance for your understanding.
Sometimes, due to births or midwifery emergencies, your appointment may be cancelled at short notice or delayed. We apologize now for the inconvenience.
Your appointments are scheduled in the clinic at 4 - 6 week intervals until you are 28 weeks pregnant. After that we see you about every 2 weeks until you are 36 weeks along, and then every week until baby arrives.
Your midwife will assess you to determine if you are in labour at which point she will make arrangements to meet you at home or hospital, depending on your birth plan. A midwife will remain with you during your labour and a second midwife will arrive prior to delivery to help care for baby.
