Our son was born October 12th, 2017 at St. Joseph's Hospital. The road to getting pregnant was a long and difficult one for us. When we finally found out that we were expecting it was the most overwhelming feeling of love and joy. We made the choice of having midwives as our primary care for our baby because of their knowledge, compassion and accessibility. Weather it was day or night, if we had a question or concern we received an answer and reassurance. We had 4 of the wonderful ladies at Access Midwives look after us and when it finally came time to meet our son, 2 midwives were by our side the entire time. It was their calming voices, their gentle touch, their skill and knowledge that got me through the delivery and the following few weeks of being a new mommy. We are forever grateful to these fantastic 4 ladies: Lauren, Ashlie, Kate and Sam. This photo is of our son John nursing at 13 months old. I am so thankful for the breastfeeding support and guidance I received from my midwives during the first few weeks of his life, and for them not letting me give up. Thank you again everyone.
