Luke and Chloe

Thank you! We feel so lucky to have been under the care of the Blue Team (Connie, Genevive and Lynlee) for the pregnancy and birth of our two children Luke and Chloe. 

Our son Luke was born on January 27, 2021. Connie supported us throughout my sons (very long!) labor. She came to our house several times for checks and met us at the hospital. The midwives had a shift change during my labor with our son and ultimately Genevive delivered him at McMaster Children’s Hospital. Genevive’s calm and soothing presence helped us to have such a positive first birth experience. 

Our daughter Chloe was born on March 26, 2023 at our home. Our daughter’s labor progressed very quickly! Lynlee was finishing up with another patient at the hospital so she was unable to come and check me at the house. Luckily, Connie lives in our neighbourhood and was able to come instead. At the time, Connie had not even been on call for deliveries but she came without hesitation. She immediately put me at ease when we realized we would not make it to the hospital in time. Lisa and her student Molly from another midwife team arrived just before Chloe was born (in our bathtub of all places!). Although we had never met either of them before, they were so kind and caring as well. My daughter’s birth was such an empowering, beautiful and surprisingly calm unmedicated birth experience at home. We do not know what we would have done without Connie! On top of everything, Connie even ran back to her house to grab a loaf of bread for peanut butter sandwiches that I was craving after Chloe’s birth. 

Both times, we experienced such great care in our home post birth from Connie, Genevive and Lynlee. We truly feel that this made all the difference and gave us confidence as both first and second time parents. 

Thank you all for the amazing care over the past few years. We feel so lucky to have been supported by such a wonderful team of women!
