I found out I was expecting my second and decided I wanted to use a midwife rather than an OB. I had a lot of issues come up after the birth of my first that I feel like I would have been a lot more supported and had better resources if I had a midwife that time. I chose Access Midwives and specifically liked Ashley when viewing their bios on the website. I was with Lisa, Ashley and Suzanne’s team and couldn’t have been happier.
Lisa ended up being the midwife when I delivered my son as well as a student. They were both so helpful with finding ways to keep me comfortable and showing my husband ways to help me through my contractions.
Based on my first birth experience we knew my second would likely come quickly as well. So shortly after my contractions started on January 16, 2022 we were heading to the hospital and Remy arrived about 4 hours after my contractions had started.
It was amazing to have so much support and resources following Remy’s birth and the added bonus of not having to take a newborn out during the winter for weight checks was so helpful.
