Teagan Elizabeth

We delivered our first baby with Access Midwives. From the start of care at 11 weeks to discharge at 6 weeks postpartum I have nothing but good things to say. I was on the blue team with Genevieve, Connie, and Lynlee. All Three of my midwives were supportive and easy to talk to throughout my entire pregnancy. I found pregnancy difficult with some surprising diagnoses mixed in. Each step of the way I felt like my midwives would do anything they could to help me out and make me as comfortable as possible. Before birth our little girl was rolling around in there. We were never quite sure if she was breech or not. In the days before my birth I went for multiple ultra sounds to double check, my midwifes called it due diligence before heading to the hospital. I appreciated the extra care and that they were concerned just as much as me.  

Teagan Elizabeth was born at 12:15am on February 14^th, our Valentines baby. We delivered at McMaster with Genevieve. She was caring and supportive the entire delivery. I know I didn’t make it easy for her but she was in good spirits the entire time. Genevieve was great at offering alternatives to help manage my pain.  

Postpartum checkups made me feel so much more at ease. I appreciated the check-ins and the double checks when Teagan wasn’t gaining a ton of weight. They were so informative and helpful with my struggle to breastfeed and my lack of sleep. 

Teagan has reflux and a dairy sensitivity. My midwives were so supportive with navigating solutions for us both, making mine and Teagan’s life so much easier. 

I couldn’t be happier to have had this experience with Access Midwives. They did an amazing job with everything during my pregnancy. They made giving birth for the first time, in a pandemic as personal and caring as possible.
