After our first pregnancy going the OB route, we wanted to try the midwife option. Originally, we imagined a home birth for our son because of covid uncertainty, but as we furthered into the trimesters - I had gestational diabetes and was educated about risks after 4th degree tearing with our daughter & ended up with a scheduled C-section. We waited at the hospital for 16 hours for that appointment, but as soon as Our midwife Connie came she advocated for us so heavily we were pushed right in. Our son Timothy Daniel was born June 21, 2022 at 9 lbs 2 oz and 38 weeks gestation. I’m very happy the purple team educated me on breastfeeding which I am still successfully doing after 6 months (I’m really proud of this!!) & was never able to do with my first.

I’d recommend a midwife but more specifically, access midwives to any friends who are in the area and expecting!
